The Prine Family: You Got Gold at Ryman Auditorium

Life is too short, but John Prine's life is a testament that "we have gold" inside all of us. This 2024, on its third year, the Prine Family presents the annual "You Got Gold: Celebrating the Songs of John Prine," a four-day commemoration to the late esteemed artist in venues across Nashville. Join the family and fellow fans at the event's kick off concert on October 9th at Ryman Auditorium.

October 9th's festivities will start off with Second Harvest Volunteer Food Sorting and then the White Castle Happy Hour. Once the clock strikes 7:30 PM, Ryman Auditorium will be filled with Midwestern tunes flowing with pure Proustian existentialism. Enjoy carefully-picked tracks from the numerous Billboard-charting albums, from his debut self-titled record up to his last work, The Tree of Forgiveness, which peaked #1 in US Folk charts. Like last year's events, the lineup will include incredible surprise artists who had personal friendship with JP, playing covers of his well-loved works.

The concert is not just a celebration of his musical works, but it's also a representation of the beloved community John has built over the past 50 years. This year, the celebration will benefit the Hello in There Foundation, which aims to identify and collaborate with marginalized, discriminated against, and/or forgotten communities.

I’m so happy that ‘You Got Gold’ will now become an annual event to ensure that we maintain that connection and grow our beloved community.”

The "You Got Gold" event will also feature pop-up shops wherein you can buy JP memorabilia, a film screening, song circles, John's iconic Christmas tree, and more.
