Sigur Rós returns. See, hear, and experience them on October 2, Wednesday, in Nashville’s landmark “Mother Church” — the Ryman Auditorium. The Icelandic three-piece band has listed eight stateside dates for their 2024 Orchestral Tour.

This ongoing autumn excursion ushers Sigur Rós’ latest offering into the American concert laps, accompanied by the Wordless Music Orchestra and maestro Robert Ames. Titled Átta, the Top 10 Billboard World Album features the indescribably rich harmonies of new singles, such as “Glóð” (Ember) and “Blóðberg” (Creeping thyme). Listen to these daringly experimental post-rock sounds. The tension in each string. The life pulse of each synth. Hear how they part fogs of the mind with climactic crescendos uplifted by Jónsi’s cathartic “Vonlenska” falsetto.

In addition to Átta, the concert will showcase Platinum-crowned classics from the group’s award-winning discography, counting the ambient sagas of “Svefn-g-englar,” “Hoppípolla,” and more. Book your reservations soon for a spiritually transcendental evening with Sigur Rós.

For post-rock outfit Sigur Rós, music is a beauty unbound by cosmic creation. Hear their symphony this 2nd day of October at the Ryman Auditorium. Experience something beyond.

The Icelandic trio made a resounding return to the charts with their aptly named eighth album, Átta, in June of 2023, marking their first full-length studio release in ten years. This autumn, they embarked on another first-time venture, reprising a tour with NYC’s Wordless Music Orchestra for a limited run through the United States. Their forthcoming concert here in Nashville will see them perform experimental new material, which features the humming distortions of "Glóð," the pounding tensions of "Klettur," and the ballad of "Blóðberg" with its hypnotic pulsing of synths and strings.

A nearly hour-long saga inspired by unity in turmoil, Átta was met with universal acclaim. It climbed the Top 10 in Billboard World Albums and several European charts, its minimal expression contrasting the aggressive, anti-commercial motifs of its predecessor, Kveikur. Sigur Rós will also grace audiences with select hits that chronicle their Platinum-branded history, from which unfurl the epics of "Svefn-g-englar" and "Hoppípolla," accentuated by the self-scribed "Vonlenska" (Hopelandic) falsetto voiced by Jón Þór "Jónsi" Birgisson.

Join the six-time Icelandic Music Award winners and linger in their latest album’s ambiance. At times sparsely alluring, at times lavishly climactic, these harmonies will engulf the hallowed grounds of Nashville’s “Mother Church.” A breathtaking Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Landmark, the Ryman Auditorium is where spiritual atmosphere and state-of-the-art acoustic technology intersect, making for a stage worthy of this once-in-a-blue-moon event.

The 41-piece Wordless Music Orchestra will perform accompaniment under the guidance of artistic director/principal conductor Robert Ames of the London Contemporary Orchestra. WMO is renowned worldwide for performing spectacular live scores from iconic films, such as Paul Thomas Anderson’s Academy Award-winning “There Will Be Blood” and Terrence Malick’s Palme d'Or winner “The Tree of Life.” Ames, meanwhile, is the Royal Philharmonic Society's youngest shortlisted candidate for the Conductor Award and a pioneering agent in the artistic exchange between classical and contemporary, having collaborated with Radiohead, Taylor Swift, and more.

Witness Sigur Rós on their tour’s penultimate US presentation with the Wordless Music Orchestra live at the Ryman Auditorium this 2nd of October, 2024. Reserve your seats through the “Get Tickets” link above.
